About Me

by Jonathan McNabb on June 16, 2009

Born and raised in Cookeville, Tennessee, I grew up in a family of four. My parents, Garry and Teresa still live and work in Cookeville while my younger sister Rachel attends Belmont University in Nashville. Growing up I was involved in my community through several service organizations and First Christian Church.

After graduating from Cookeville High School with honors in 2005 I began to attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio studying political science and accounting. Throughout my college career I was involved in the University community holding leadership positions as a Resident Assistant, Co-Chairman of College Republicans, and member of Associated Student Government among other activities before being elected Student Body President for the 2009-2010 academicl year.

While a student at Miami I was involved politically by organizing and volunteering for Republican political campaigns in Southwest Ohio and interning for U.S. House Minority Leader John Boehner in Washington, D.C. and West Chester, Ohio.

Following my time at Miami I moved back to Cookeville to work as a Field Director for  Jim Tracy’s campaign for the United States House of Representatives in Tennessee’s 6th Congressional District. After November I plan to return to Washington, D.C. and work on Capitol Hill for a member of Congress.
