Representation

In these difficult budget times for Miami, it is important that student leaders are elected who have experience working with the University’s budget matters.  As the sole student representative of the University’s Fiscal Priorities Committee, Jonathan has worked to ensure that the student experience is protected and will continue to do so.

Debt Relief

Student government must continue to do its part in relieving student organizations of their debt.  Currently Jonathan and Andrew have worked to relieve over 40% of organizations that entered this academic year in debt.

Socially Responsible Investing

The University has a $400 million portfolio of investments that supports many of its daily activities.  We will create a committee to review how this money is being invested, and if any socially irresponsible holdings are found we will reallocate that money to more desirable funds that maintain high levels of return.

Sustainability

It is critical that we create a revolving Green Fund to finance environmentally and financially sustainable projects on Miami’s campus.  This Fund will provide funding necessary for capital improvement projects around the University.  The cost savings will be returned, which will cause the fund to grow while saving the University money.
